Recognized as arguably Cuba's most famous "Torcedor" – the highest level of cigar rolling expertise – his journey from El Laguito's cigar-making school (the Cohiba Factory) graduate to rolling for royalty and celebrities is nothing short of extraordinary.
Alex's passion for cigars ignited in 2006 when he graduated as a "Torcedor" from the prestigious El Laguito Cigar Factory. His exceptional talent quickly propelled him to the top ranks, crafting cigars within the hallowed walls of the Cohiba factory until 2013.
Alex's dedication didn't stop there. He continued his artistry at the prestigious Hotel Comodoro, a position reserved for only the most renowned rollers. His meticulous attention to detail and exceptional blends garnered international acclaim, featuring in publications like Cigars Aficionado, Friendofhabanos, and Cigar & Spirits.
Word of Alex's talent spread like wildfire. Soon, he was crafting bespoke cigars for dignitaries like the Sultan of Malaysia and princes from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Kuwait. Even celebrities like Joe Jonas, Michael Jordan (whose double lancero was famously seen in "The Last Dance" documentary), and Ray Lewis, the Baltimore Ravens legend, sought out his expertise.
